The Ohio History Center

Shrum Mound
Speaking of pre-Columbian times, Shrum Mound is a Native American burial mound that dates back over 2,000 years. This is one of the oldest historical sites that you will find in Ohio. Located in James E. Campbell Park, this site is easily accessible and free to the public.
The Kelton House Museum & Garden
Built in 1852 for a wealthy dry goods merchant, The Kelton House is one of the oldest houses in Columbus, OH. Self-guided audio tours of the home are available for a small fee ($6 for adults). If you’re feeling more refined, the house is available for tea parties. Who wouldn’t want to throw a tea party in a beautiful historic mansion?
